Delfina
In 1992, Delfina Marsaglia, primarily for fun, created a small collection of swimsuits, chosen by a couple of small boutiques in the historic center of Rome, the city where Delfina resides.
The editor of Vogue US, vacationing in Rome, purchased one of these bikinis and was so enamored that upon returning to New York, she wrote an article about Delfina. Shortly after, the collection became available in the most famous department stores in the United States. Delfina was positioned in Bergdorf, Saks, and Barneys.
Since then, the collection has expanded to include clothing, cover-ups, and accessories, and Delfina has broadened distribution to the finest stores in Europe, the Middle East, and Japan.
Over the years, Delfina has undertaken various projects and started producing private labels for Tory Burch and Calypso St Barth. Currently, there are three Delfina flagship stores in Italy (Rome and the island of Capri) and abroad on the beautiful island of St. Barthelemy.
Delfina produces her swimsuits through small, family-run tailoring workshops all in Italy, paying particular attention to the quality of fabrics, embroidery, and finishes.
A small part of the collection outside the water, characterized by a boho-chic flavor, is instead made in India. Typical Indian embroideries and prints created with still artisanal methods seamlessly integrate into Delfina's taste, enriching it with additional nuances.
